I'm thinking of hiring a wetsuit for this season and was wondering if anyone would recommend anywhere.

In fact, is it worth it at all, or is it just best to buy one in the first instance?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jon

Hi Jon

We usually have some club wetsuits that you could try at the beginning of the season down at the lake in Otley. Maybe that would help you decide what kind of suit you need and what make might work for you, before committing to hiring or buying; I bought when I first started simply because I couldn't find one off the shelf to fit me, so I had one made, but I know a lot of people don't have this problem. There are so many different suits available these days with all kind of technology/selling points and it can depend what kind of swimmer you are too as to what suit might be best - bit of a minefield!

At the committee meeting this week I'm hoping to find out what suits we have, so I'll post here afterwards to let you know.

Hi Jon,

PureTri are the pick of the bunch.

You can hire from now until the end of September. Its a bargain at £70, and they let you return it or buy it for £90. RRP £200 (2XU T:O)

Failing that I know of certain indivduals that get 2XU wetsuits for free, im sure if you want to buy a suit, I can get you a great deal.

That's great - thanks for the help.

I think I'll try out the club ones to make sure of the size and then hire one for my first season, and buy one next year - assuming the lake monsters don't get me first!

Hi Jon

Forgot to let you know what I found out at the meeting, sorry! Yes there are a few club suits that you'll be able to try on. Of course we can't guarantee you'll find one to fit you perfectly and they're lent out on a first come first served basis, but you can at least try them out and take it from there. Just ask when you get down to the lake.
