Details below of next X-C Feb 19th. We are planning to have a photographer available at this event to do a team photo for each club so it would be great to get everyone there. Reminder too that the presentation night is 23rd March at Pudsey, we will have a few trophy winners this year!

Venue – Stainland Recreation Ground, Stainland Road, HX4 9HS (Just near the Red Lion Pub).

Time – 10.00am

WYWL Course – The Stainland XC course is approximately 4.5 miles, and is the same course as used in the 2010/11 season with a slight change to the lap order. The course previously consisted of a long lap followed by a short lap, however to avoid the front runners lapping the back markers, it will now be a short lap followed by a long lap. The course starts on the Recreation Ground and takes the runners over a variety of tracks and fields around Stainland. The course covers most terrains so it would be advisable to wear trainers with good grip (trail or fell). There a 3 stiles to cross which could be slippery when wet, so please take real care when using them. There is also a short road section of about 50 yards, and although the runners will not need to cross the road, there is no pavement. It will be fully marshalled, but runners are asked to stick to the right hand side of the road. We have negotiated a special agreement with a local farmer to take down part of his fence and cross his land for race day only, so runners should not recce the course beforehand.

Parking – There are some parking spaces around Stainland recreation ground, however the majority of competitors will have to park in the village. We will have marshals will be on hand to direct people but please try to park courteously to residents.

Facilities – The Red Lion pub will be open from 9am and is where most of the activity will be centred. Runners and supporters will be able to use the toilet here, and we will be serving Tea and Coffee and hot food after the race for at a small cost.

We are fortunate that Charlotte and the Team from Back To Fitness Physiotherapy (www.backtofitnessphysio.com) will have some massage tables set up in the pub and will be on hand to give free 5 min rub downs before and after the race for those aching legs.

Hope to see you all in Sunny Stainland!

If anyone needs a running vest for the group photo (and the run), please order in advance on the club shop and I'll bring them on the day.
