I know, I know... August has only just past and most of us haven't had our end of season break yet but it's time to get the dates in your diary for the x-country league that we are part of...

For those who haven't done x-country since they were at school these races really are great fun and open to all levels of ability. They are a brilliant way to keep you motivated through the winter months and whats more they are completely free to enter...

Races, with the possible exception of 8th January, will start at 10am and are between 4.5 and 6miles long. Further details will be posted a bit nearer to the race day...

Sunday 27th November - Pudsey
Sunday 18th December - Skipton
Sunday 8th January - TBC (will be Baildon or Dewsbury)
Sunday 29th January - Idle
Sunday 19th February - Stainland

The presentation evening will be held by Pudsey on Friday 23rd March.

Whether you have done x-country for as many years as you care to remember or haven't done them in a very long time it would be great to see you on the start line in LBT kit and, of course, in the bar afterwards for the mandatory post race analysis!

There is no need to register in advance you can just turn up on race morning. However, if you can commit to any/all of the dates it would be good to know who we are expecting to run.

If you have any questions at all please post here or email teams@lbt.org.uk

Thanks

Debs

Hi Debbie, I am planning to go to the first one and see how it goes. I have started to have tendonitis since I bought some new cross country trainers. I ordered a vest to be delivered on the day. Looking forward to it. Thanks for organising it. Mercedes

Please find attached the details for the first race in the series at Pudsey, a week tomorrow (27th). The race will start at 10am and it is a bit of a walk from where you park to the race start so please arrive in plenty of time. Also can you ensure you let Richard know when you turn up so he can add you to the start list...

We have also been advised that it is likely to be pretty muddy and slippy on the course and that trail or x-country shoes would be a good idea if you have them.

See you on the start line...

Hi Debbie,

I would be interested to do some of the WYWL cross country races, but I need to ask how it would work out as my EA first claim at the moment is not with LBT. I wanted to change my first claim but I found that I would have to be out of competition for a few months or so.

Is the way to compete in this XC league to register with LBT as my second claim club?

Thanks

Nikos

Hi Nikos,

As we are a triathlon club and not a pure running club then you don't need to be first claim to compete for LBT, though if the running club you are first claim are one of the teams entered in the series then they may insist you run for them. If you can let me know who your first claim club is I can tell you if they do have a team racing...

Hopefully see you next Sunday with an LBT vest on...

Debs
