LGS Q1 W4 - Hold Stroke Count and Form Under Pressure
Please find attached the session for this week - Alan Smith is lead coach.
LGS Q1 W4.pdf (44.26 KB)
Alan's points:
The warm up begins with continous swimming including a longer continuous kick - swimmers to try head up - hands over the end of the kick board approach.
The main set a reverse pyramid set – decending and ascending rest but holding even time and stroke count. The aim of which is to see how the Push and Glide, Stroke Count and Pace Judgement hold up “Under Pressure”.
Element 1: this will test Timing skills – coaches to inform swimmers not to change the leader of the lane (unless they physically cannot carry on).
Element 2: Pace judgement - get this wrong and the second part of main set could be quite uncomfortable.
