Having been working on speed development over the past month. The next four sessions will start to include more sustained/ slower paced swimming.

The main set integrates steady paced longer swims with shorter quicker swims. The purpose of the longer swims is to recover. Swimmers should try to maintain the same pace throughout the shorter swims.

We are proud to have won 220 Triathlon Magazine's 'Club of the Year' for 3 of the last 4 years, and being runners up in 2014. We hope this reflects not only the size and popularity of the club but also the wide range of training sessions we offer for all our members and the very active and popular Youth and Junior sections that we support. The Ilkley Triathlon, which we organise and run every September has also won the triathlon of the year award for < 500 participants in 2 of the last 3 years, and our Head Coach, Simon Ward, has won the Coach of the Year award as well.

We Stop At Red

A simple pledge for all club members.

All Leeds & Bradford Triathlon Club members pledge to stop at red traffic lights when cycling.

By doing so we hope to:

  • Improve our own safety
  • Improve the safety of others
  • Gain the respect of motorists and pedestrians

Cyclists who ignore red traffic lights are forgetting their responsibilities as road users. The same rules that apply to cars apply to cyclists, so we should stop at red traffic lights. Jumping red lights is illegal and irresponsible. Not only does it diminish the respect of cyclists in the eyes of other road users, it puts you and other road users at unnecessary risk of injury.

We ask all our members to be part of this pledge. This is something we strongly believe in. If you do not agree with the pledge then you may wish to consider if Leeds & Bradford Triathlon Club is the club for you.
